NIPDA ENGAGES AFIENYA AREA COUNCIL ON NEEDS ASSESSMENT
The Ningo-Prampram District Assembly has engaged the Afienya Area Council, bringing together representatives from four electoral areas: Mataheko, Afienya, Mobole, and Mangotsonya. This gathering was part of the process of developing the 2026-2029 Medium Term Development Plan for the assembly. The engagement was attended by Assembly members, chiefs, the clergy, unit committee members, market women representatives and driver unions. The District Chief Executive, Hon. Raphael Uriel Nartey, was present, along with the Assembly’s technical staff led by Mrs. Vida Awuku.
During the engagement, participants were grouped according to their electoral areas and tasked with identifying the most pressing needs of their various communities. This exercise yielded a list of priorities, including market and lorry stations, sanitation, water and electricity extensions, security, youth employment, control on excessive drug use, street naming, football pitches, access roads, health facilities, classroom blocks, teachers’ bungalows among others.
In his closing remarks, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Raphael emphasized the importance of revenue mobilization to fund these projects. He urged attendees to participate in paying their building permits, business operating permits, and market tolls, stating that these revenues would be used to implement the identified projects.The community engagement provided valuable insights into the community’s needs, which will inform the development of the 2026-2029 Medium Term Development Plan for the Ningo-Prampram District Assembly.
