Ningo Prampram Health Directorate Holds Annual Health Performance Review Meeting

The 2022 Edition of the Annual Health Performance Review Meeting of the Ningo Prampram District Health Directorate was held at the OASIS Training Center under the theme “Building a Resilient Health Delivery System in the midst of Covid-19 pandemic through, continuity of Essential Services, Effective Response to Infectious Disease outbreaks and good Governance”. This review meeting was put in place by stakeholders of the District Assembly to access the performance of all Health Facilities operating in the assembly.
There were Health Practitioner Representatives who spoke for their sub- districts, i.e. the Prampram Sub-District; Prampram Polyclinic and its surrounding CHPS compounds, the Old Ningo Sub-District; Old Ningo Health Center and all its CHPS Zones, the Afienya Sub District; Afienya and all its CHPS zones and the Dawhenya Sub-District; Dawhenya and all its CHPS zones.
The District Health Director, Mrs. Gifty Ofori Ansah, welcomed all participants and introduced the many dignities present, including Dr. Ashinyo, the Deputy Programs Manager,AIDS Commission, Nene Sorseh Quashie_Chief Fisherman, Prampram, Rev. Ebenezer Asiamah, Director of Health, Shai Osudoku District among others.
She said the district is building a resilient health service and in spite of all the challenges including covid-19, the several outbreaks, the constraints of staff, the economic and financial many successes were chalked. New CHPS Compounds have been opened, a Government hospital is under construction at old Ningo under the agenda 111 which is a good sign she added.
Presentations were made under four broad headings. 1. Reduce Morbidity and Mortality. 2. Enhance Efficiency in Governance and Management. 3. Intensify, Prevention and Control of Communicable Diseases 4. Ensure Sustainable, Affordable, Easy accessible to health care services.
Dr. Kensil, a rep. from the Prampram polyclinic reported that there are four (4) medical doctors available at the Prampram sub-district meanwhile other facilities do not have any medical doctors.
All set targets were met by all sub-districts including the testing for anemia in all pregnant women visiting health centers, the average dosage prescription of three (3), polio and covid-19 vaccinations, the calls for patronage of family planning methods.
Mr. James Sitsofe, the sub-district rep. for the Old Ningo zone welcome the construction of the hospital which he believes will help improve upon health service delivery in the area. He added that the presence of the many workers at the construction site is resulting in the loss of some properties including water meters and air conditioner pipes. He therefore called on the directorate to help curb that menace.
Mrs. Vivian Ayogovia and Miss Linda Asamani, the District HIV Coordinator and District Health Information Officer respectively briefed the house on progresses made and advocated for the need to pay attention to our health especially in times where one does not feel ill.
The District Health Director for Shai Osudoku Rev. Ebenezer Asiamah stressed on the need by health practitioners to display standard practices and professionalism anywhere and everywhere. “Let’s be ethical, standard, professional.
Let’s desist from using the phones while patients are waiting on us. The need for continues Career Development and staff motivation must not be exempted. You can share topics on nutrition, teenage pregnancy among yourselves on monthly basis and alternate the visitations. Let’s do this as our motto says, “your health, our concern, “he advised.
The Presiding Member (PM) for the Assembly and chairman for the program, Mr. Solomon Djangmah concluded by assuring everybody that all concerns raised were being taken into considering. “I have taken all concerns raised and will get to the DCE and we will see how to address these concerns raised”.
