A burial permit is a legal requirement under Ghanaian law before any burial or cremation can take place. The permit is issued by the District Assembly following the certification of death by a medical officer and registration of the death at the Births and Deaths Registry.

Understanding the urgency of bereavement situations, the Ningo-Prampram District Assembly processes burial permit applications as quickly as possible, typically within 24–48 hours of receiving all required documentation.
