Infrastructure & Construction
The Works Department of the Ningo-Prampram District Assembly is responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance, and management of all public infrastructure within the district. The department plays a critical role in delivering roads, public buildings, drainage systems, and other key facilities that enhance the quality of life for all residents.
The department works closely with the Physical Planning Unit to ensure that all construction projects comply with approved design standards and building regulations, and coordinates with external contractors, government agencies, and development partners to implement infrastructure projects financed by the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF), DDF, and other sources.
Key Functions
Planning and supervision of road construction and rehabilitation projects across the district
Maintenance of district roads, bridges, culverts, and drainage systems
Construction and maintenance of public buildings including schools, clinics, and markets
Supervision and quality assurance of all infrastructure projects funded by the Assembly
Technical review of building plans and approval of construction projects
Coordination with Ghana Highways Authority and DURT on road standards
Emergency infrastructure repairs following flooding or disaster events
Preparation of bills of quantities and project cost estimates for the Assembly
