NINGO PRAMPRAM DISTRICT CONCLUDES WEEK-LONG NATIONAL SANITATION CAMPAIGN IN AFIENYA
The Ningo-Prampram District Assembly partnered with residents of Afienya on Saturday, December 20, 2025, to climax a week-long National Sanitation campaign in preparation for the Christmas festivities.
The initiative, launched by the Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon Ahmed Ibrahim was implemented across communities in the district.
The programme begun on Saturday, the 13th at Dawhenya, then to Old Ningo, Tsopoli, New Ningo, Mataheko, Prampram, and finally ended in Afienya.
This exercise, led by District Chief Executive Hon. Raphael Uriel Nartey, witnessed significant participation from residents across all communities, resulting in a comprehensive and effective clean-up operation.
Throughout the week, the DCE acknowledged that while the Assembly faces logistical challenges, measures are being implemented to address these issues and maintain environmental cleanliness across the district. He emphasized that residents must take personal responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean beyond this campaign period.
The DCE again commended the Assembly members for their effective mobilization efforts and expressed appreciation for the strong community participation.
The District Environmental Officer, Ms. Evelyn Nani, urged residents to prioritize cleanliness, noting that environmental officers will conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance. She warned that failure to maintain clean surroundings will result in legal consequences.
The week-long sanitation campaign was successfully executed throughout the Ningo-Prampram District, leaving the area cleaner and raising environmental awareness among residents.
